Prefab Sprout - The Best Of Prefab Sprout: A Life Of Surprises download free

Would love to know how many of these were pressed back in 1992? I've been after a copy for some time and not many ever come for sale..with a play time of just under a whopping 34 minutes on side 1 alone! I wasn't expecting too much from this pressing, but have been pleasantly surprised.A fair amount of bass is present and not tinny (for 80s music) or flat sounding, the recording volume is loud for such a long play time too, doesn't fall into the same traps as many long play vinyl's of the time like the original pressing of Bon Jovi - Keep the Faith (also from 1992)Obviously though this was 1992, CD was the present & future, vinyl was the past, something to be discouraged to own by record companies, shops were ditching records in droves in the UK, pressing plants were shutting down and turntables getting chucked in local skips sometimes along with whole record collections!despite no effort being put in by the record company, saving money by giving this a single vinyl release when it needed a double, TimTom's mastering did come to the rescue, but you cannot escape the cheap vinyl formulations used in the late 80's early 90's that's full of those tickly crackle's no matter what the condition of the vinyl that trickle on throughout the play.'The Darkest Hour is just before Dawn' is written in the dead wax, sums up the vinyl industry from 1992 until the present quick nicely..would be great to see this compilation get re-rereleased someday, but glad to have this on 90's vinyl for now....
