  • Beautiful drum n bass album that I see that came as overlooked as the previous Bungle LP, but this one didn't deserve so, at least for the impressive first half. It begins with a very oldschool tune, goes to an impressive downtempo one in "Forgotton" that is half post rock half downtempo and peaks early with two numbers: "Sirens" is, arguably, the best attempt so far or reproducing stadium emo rock in drum n bass with Aya begging "I need to be alone!" with a joyful anger, a noticeable bassline and a calm/fury dynamic that is very moving, and "Numbers" embraces the jazzy organic drum n bass that others like Calibre have done many times in their career but expanding it to a rolling climax. And after the Makoto/Bukem sounding "Memories" with its spoken word, the album goes slightly downhill: "Blue" and "Constant Roller" are solid rollers which sounds similar to the ones from Dj Marky, "Tears" tries to be heartbreaking but it is more admirable in its production that joins many different instruments in a kind of brazilian jazzy rhythm mixed with poppy living room electronica, "Outsider" is a bit, yes, out of place in its sample tweaking that is nearly dubstep (thankfully it isn't) and "Waiting" follows the kind of minimal dubby drum n bass (thankfully) popularized by ASC, Consequence, Sabre or Justice+Metro but the vocals should have been removed.Oh, but those first four songs. How much I love them.
