There is no denying the fact that this is a good album from track 1 to track 12, It may sound stereotypical to repeat the usual musical jargon like (it's one of those of those albums on 'repeat') but the truth is that IT IS. And why do I say that because from 'What's On Your Mind?' consistency and musical flow is what you get,if you expected and album with radical difference in terms of musical style then look elsewhere and get one of the numerous 'Deep House' compilations out there. It's a tad bit hard to classify the genre of this album but IMO it leans towards mid-90's type smooth R&B with touches of smooth jazz re: jazzy vocals by Catherine Russell and smooth guitar riffs by Dave Boonshoft plus the other talented vocalists and musicians present not forgetting the production work of Jay Denes.Aficionados of genres like Deep House/Soulful House and even Smooth Jazz may see different but this album covers all these musical variants well.Lyrically the songs lean towards the well and tested dynamics of human relationship in a beautiful manner,the album is now way over 10 years old and will always remain a classic album for all fans of releases from the Naked Music stable and other passionate music lovers alike.
