  • Although released at the tail end of 2013, this record took me straight back to halcyon days when attitude prowled the streets and music was the electricity that powered the scene. So many elements of this LP have the spark and verve of the late 70's, early 80's, and, If you need reference points, here they are; The Slits, Gang Of Four, Delta 5, Mo-Dettes and The Monochrome Set. However, it's not lacking originality, that's not what I'm saying. It's just that it sounds as if it has come from that time where music was recorded in the basement, live, with no over-dubbing or over-hype. Shopping are a virile concoction of choppy riffs and snappy lyrics that makes me want to put on my D.M.'s and bounce. They almost make me forget about lack of hair and teeth! This is the stuff that makes England great. The only downside to the record - pastel orange - bleuch!
